CSFTA FT Winter League 2007/2008

2007/2008 FT Winter League Agenda & Rules

There will only be one division for the 2007/2008 season, with six (6) rounds plus a showdown.

All shoots will be held according to normal BFTA rules

As certain clubs e.g. Newbury will not be able to raise full teams a series of Open Events was agreed, with top three (3) shooters per club to count towards team scores.  An individual shooter fee of £4.00 per person per round was agreed, with half the money £2.00 going to the host club (The club putting on the shoot) and half the fee £2.00 going to committee to buy any necessary trophies for FT Winter League.

40 target courses are to be provided by the host club with normal FT scoring of one (1) for a hit X, and zero (0) for a miss to be applied for all rounds.

A maximum of 10% of the 40 targets are to be positional i.e. 4 targets 2 kneelers, 2 standers.

Handicap on grading is to be applied as follows:

AA = 0 points

A = 1 point

B = 2 points

C = 3 points

New shooters will be given C grading and the new October grading list will apply

Prizes will be awarded 1st to 5th in all grades AA to C, at the end of the season, 5 rounds to count.

Gary Well’s Trophy

The Gary Well’s trophy will be awarded to the shooter with the most targets over the course of the winter league with all 6 rounds, besides showdown to count.

Team

The top three scores for each club will count towards the team score, with one (1) extra point for the overall highest score on the day to be added for one shooter. Five rounds will count towards the Team Trophies.  Handicaps will apply to teams

Showdown

Five (5) rounds will count towards Showdown.

The top thirty-two (32) shooters at the end of the FT winter league series will be eligible to take part in the CSFTA showdown to be held at a date and venue to be agreed.  In the event of qualifiers not wishing to take part, their places will be filled by going down the non-qualifiers starting with shooter no. 33.  When all shooters that have shot 5 rounds have been exhausted the top scorer of those that have shot 4 rounds will be next on the list.  This process will continue until all 32 places are filled.

Once selected a shooter has full showdown rights.

The top fifteen (15) CSFTA shooters will be eligible for the inter-regional finals.

Other stuff

All participating shooters are required to have current BFTA shooter cards.  This is a requirement to comply with certain clubs Shooters insurance.

It is the responsibility of the club hosting the shoot to provide a Chief Marshall on the date.  All disputes will be aired and settled at a Captain’s Meeting.  The final decision will be made in the event of a dispute between the host club Chief Marshall and Mick Woodhead.

The Shoot should start at 09:00hrs promptly (Shotgun start) with the Captain’s meeting taking place at 08:30hrs.  The Signing on should continue until 11:30hrs, sufficient to allow shooters to complete the course and the host club to get cleared away before dark!

Stopwatches are to be used with a time limit of 2 minutes per lane of two targets.  Watches will be provided and the rule enforced.

Shooters will ‘Buddy Marshall’ each other, with appropriate help and assistance being given to new/inexperienced shooters.  Shooters are encouraged to shoot with a member of another club.  e.g. Newbury and Bisley.

Each club responsible for a Round of shooting is to ensure that at least one portaloo is provided.

Use of Chronographs is at the discretion of the hosting club.  The BFTA limit of 5fps below the 12ft/lbs limit shall be applied.  795 fps for 8.4grain pellets

Host clubs should provide hot and hot drinks for purchase.  If this cannot be provided, it is the responsibility to let other clubs know so that alternative arrangements can be made by club shooters.

Maps of directions to shooting grounds are to be provided by Hosting Clubs

The normal BFTA rules apply to the use of Reduced kill sizes.

No forced positional shoots (Standing/Kneeling) shall be at a distance greater than 45yds.

Shooters can shoot the course in the BFTA SFT style but in their usual grade and  there will be no separate class.
